The CirBioWaste project is preparing to launch its first capacity-building activity, an online training session – OT1: “Models for an Efficient Bio-Waste Management at EU and Local Level”, scheduled for 16 January 2026 (10 am–12 pm WET / 11 am–1 pm CET / 1 pm–3 pm EEST). Co-funded by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, the project unites partners from Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, and Bulgaria under the coordination of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). With the support of 19 associated partners across six Mediterranean countries, CirBioWaste aims to drive the transition toward a circular and resource-efficient bioeconomy by transferring proven bio-waste management solutions and strengthening local governance frameworks.
The upcoming training event marks a key milestone in this collaborative effort. Its purpose is to build knowledge-sharing frameworks among local authorities, experts, and stakeholders, enabling them to co-design strategies and action plans tailored to their territories. After a common session in English, participants will be divided into break-out rooms, where each country will explore topics relevant to its national context in the local language.
The online training session represents a significant opportunity for Mediterranean stakeholders to enhance their understanding of innovative bio-waste management models collectively.
By combining shared learning with country-specific sessions, the CirBioWaste training aims to strengthen regional collaboration and support the development of efficient, locally adaptable bio-waste management strategies across the Mediterranean.
